North Miami Beach Chinese Senior Club New Year Celebration 2020

On January 13, 2020, Florida Asian Services organized the North Miami Beach Chinese Senior Club January Meeting – New Year Celebration 2020. The meeting was held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the NMB McDonald Senior Center in North Miami Beach, FL.

The meeting unveiled with message from the City Commissioner of North Miami Beach Michael Joseph, he reminded the seniors to participate for Census 2020 to help the city to get funding and resources from the federal government. He emphasized that the goal for the City of North Miami Beach is 50 thousand plus 1 people, so the City would be qualified for federal funding. Joshua Ho from North Miami Beach added that the seniors needed to be counted at the right place – not in where their son or daughter lives, but in where they live. He, in addition, encouraged the seniors to become citizens and to vote in the upcoming elections.

Besides, Thai Trade Center and Taipei Economic & Cultural Center in Miami were also invited to the meeting to introduce their services to the community, such as discounted ID cards and passport services. Thai Dance Group from Wat Buddharangsi Buddhist Temple were also invited to the meeting for traditional Thai dance performance. There was also a Tai-chi class to help seniors to stretch before lunch.
